Hi, I'm Maxime.

I'm currently Lead Product Manager at BandLab Technologies

I am an applied systems thinker.

I became an Interaction Designer by studying Political Economy at UC Berkeley, engineering the hardware and firmware for digital music controllers at Keith McMillen Instruments, and directing business decisions around customer needs as Product Manager at BeBop Sensors. Having worked across diverse disciplines over the past decade, I know what it takes to call upon and manage the complexity of modern product management.

I continue to search for ways to make my products more human. That means perennially re-assessing how I work with other people, how I create meaningful experiences, and how I bridge the idiosyncrasy of humans with the zeros and ones of computers

I hold a Master's Degree in Interaction Design from California College of the Arts. CCA afforded me the opportunity to hone my craft while continuing to push my skills to recognize not just the user’s experience but also the product’s competitive landscape, questions of feasibility, and long-term impact.

Outside of my work

playing the saxophone

I make music whenever I can, from jazz performance to hip-hop production. I teach improvisation and instrument technique to private students and small ensembles — which is a great source of joy and learning for me, too. You can see and hear me play here.

rock climbing in Pinnacles

I love rock climbing. It’s an opportunity to check in with the world, promote ecological conservancy, hang out with friends, and stay healthy.
